Party Poker Review
Most people should recognise PartyPoker from their heavy advertisement and media exposure in recent times. PartyPoker used to be the world’s largest and busiest poker sites however in 2006 they lost their entire US player base when the UIGEA came into play, and online poker was made illegal in the US. This gave PartyPoker a bad beat, and subsequently led to the rise of other sites such as PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. Nevertheless, PartyPoker has remained very successful in the UK and kept the majority of its European player base. PartyPoker has great promotions, tons of weak fishy players, and they still run lots of Steps satellites to events such as the WSOP and English Open.
Bonus and Promotions
New players that sign up to Party Poker will receive a lovely 100% up to $50 deposit bonus. PartyPoker’s bonus might not seem as expansive as others, but its generous reload bonuses and instant cash back offers make up for it. PartyPoker hands out their deposit bonus using a simple points structure. For every $1 that you rake in cash games you’ll receive 2 PartyPoker Points. Depending on how many points you accumulate, you can surge up the levels and be eligible for bigger cash bonuses and cash back. At the highest end, you’ll be Palldium Elite, which offers 40% cash back for the total amount that you rake for that month i.e. rake $10,000 and you’ll receive $4,000 back into your account. Along with PartyPoker’s extremely generous rewards scheme, you can also spend your PartyPoker points in the online store, with luxury items such as a BMX M3, poker books and clothing up for grabs.
New players will especially love PartyPoker’s bankroll builder tournaments, which have been specifically designed for new low stakes players. In total there is a staggering $30k made available in guaranteed prizes for new players. First depositors will go straight into a $1.5k freeroll, and there are a number of micro-stakes MTTs that you can in every day from just $1 – $15 in entry fees. The biggest attraction at Party Poker is the Monthly Million, a massive multi-table tournament which runs every month with $1 million in guaranteed prizes. You can qualify for this event from as little as $1 in daily Monthly Million satellites. Players can also win live packages such as the $8k Legends of Poker Package from playing in the micro-takes Steps SNG satellite games, in which you can start from Step1 and progress up a ladder format to Step 5 by winning all of your games.
Despite the loss of their US market, PartyPoker has retained a large amount of traffic and loyal players. On average you will find 10,000 ring game players in the lobby and up to 70,000 tournament players at peak time. There are a large variety of games that you can play at PartyPoker, these include Holdem, PLO and Fixed Limit games. The ring tables range from $0.01/$0.02 to $250/$500 which more than covers the majority of players online. PartyPoker’s greatest asset are their tournament diversity and weekly games, with buy-ins ranging from daily $500 freerolls and $1 events up to the $640 WPT London Satellites. The softness of PartyPoker’s ring tables and tournaments cannot escape being mentioned. Even in the low stakes $2/$4 games you will still find plenty of weak players in comparison to the games at US-friendly sites such as PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. PartyPoker is genuinely a decent poker site to grind a lot of profit at, and one of my favourite poker sites online.
The PartyPoker has been denounced in recent years, however I am happy to say that they have rebranded and retriggered themselves with excellent software and table animations. You can upload and choose your own avatars, and an instant hand re-player has been introduced. Happily, you can now multi-table up to 12 games simultaneously using either the cascading or stacking view. The lobby retains its vibrant green and white hallmark theme, and the lobby has been made accessible and user-friendly for new players. A player-finder features allows you to search for specific players along with the games that they are playing at, plus you can navigate your way to games using the lobby filtering system and look at individual table stats.
PartyPoker players are privy to 24/7 free-phone and email support which tends to provide rapidly response times. You can make speedy deposits and withdrawals online through virtually every possible deposit option, including Bank Wire, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Solo, Maestro, Click2Pay, Neteller, Paypal and other eWallets.
